artist statement
In my small-scale paintings, vision and revision operate in a contained revolution. My working process remains open throughout, providing a sympathetic foundation for continual reactions. Each day some new visual influence colors our world, and alters our previous visual language. My process is an attempt to report this unceasing adjustment and refinement. This manner of execution leaves many loose ends, and although they may be disparate, they are ultimately welcomed home in a unique painterly aggregate. Conceptual, decorative, and process-oriented approaches mix at different levels, enforcing their inherent peculiarity. These paintings are made to embody the anxiety of a culture of excesses and novelty, a continual seeking of the new and improved.
